While our offices are located in Irvine, California, Chang LLP attorneys routinely work with businesses and clients in Asia, including China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
Our cross-border work includes assisting overseas clients to form, operate, and maintain businesses; purchase real estate or other assets; and litigate and enforce foreign judgments in the U.S. In addition, we assist overseas clients in strategic partnerships with U.S. and other Western brands for exportation to Asia.
Our cross-border representative work includes:
- Introducing China-based real estate company to, and negotiating on their behalf with, international theme park brands and consultants to build branded theme parks in China
- Forming and overseeing a team of legal advisors to defend against DOJ investigation into overseas real estate clients doing business in Los Angeles
- Assisting China- and Hong Kong-based companies to purchase hotel assets in the U.S.
- Enforcing money judgement in federal court on behalf of China-based client
- Assisting foreign steel company form a U.S. subsidiary and commence operations in U.S.
- Serving as general counsel on behalf of overseas consumer products company to deal with vendor contracts, government investigations, employment issues, etc.
